Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has increasingly shown promise in various fields, including the medical sector. In recent years, AI has been used to assist physicians in diagnosis, treatment planning, and research. One of the most notable AI technologies is ChatGPT, an advanced language model developed by OpenAI. Since its release in November 2022, ChatGPT has quickly become a hot topic, particularly for its use in educational contexts. It has swiftly demonstrated its ability to answer exam-type questions and provide explanations, raising questions about its potential role in education and assessment. Recently, it has been used to write scientific articles without being detected by human experts. Therefore, it is crucial to verify the accuracy with which ChatGPT can answer medical exam questions. The emergence of ChatGPT has sparked debates within the medical community regarding its potential to replace human doctors. From a dermatological perspective, it may be premature to engage in such discourse. Before delving into whether ChatGPT can "replace" human dermatologists, it is crucial to determine if ChatGPT is indeed a useful tool in dermatology or simply an overhyped technology. This will help ascertain whether busy dermatologists should dedicate their time to learning and mastering its use to enhance their clinical or research capabilities
